The Telugu Film Industry is reveling in joy because two of the most promising biggies ‘Rangasthalam’ and ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ have proved themselves. Now, the third one 'Na Peru Surya-Na Illu India' has arrived. Let us see if it's resulting in hat trick among big films of the season in TFI.

Story Line:

Surya (Allu Arjun) is a soldier in the Army and he is the best at every aspect that defines a true soldier. His only dream is to stand guard at the border and protect the nation. However, he has a hitch. Surya is very short tempered and if someone pricks his anger, they are done to dust. In one such instance where he blows his top, Surya ends up bashing the Minister’s son at a pub and the matter goes to the cops. Surya’s commanding officer (Boman Irani) knows his potential but is unable to handle his angered behavior.

Things reach the saturation point when Surya ends up killing a terrorist who is in the army prison. He undergoes court-martial and sent away from the army. After several requests from his mentor (Rao Ramesh), the commanding officer gives one chance subject to one condition. Surya has to get a clean chit from the world famous psychologist Dr. Ramakrishna (Arjun). This becomes an even bigger challenge for Surya because of a past with Dr. Ramakrishna. What is that past and whether Surya is able to fulfill his dream or not forms the rest.

Artists & Performances:

The film belongs completely to Allu Arjun. The way Bunny lived his role and showed a myriad facet of emotions is phenomenal. Be it his anger, his sadness, his vulnerability or his composed intensity, everything was spot on. Above all, the way he laced his seriousness with humor is splendid. This has taken Bunny to a new range of performance quotient. We can say it's one of the best performances in his career till now.

Anu Emmanuel was nice and she was good in the emotional scenes.

Action King- Arjun was awesome and his scenes with Bunny would stand out.

Sarath Kumar looked solid and he justified the role of antagonist with the right balance.

Vennela Kishore was hilarious, Rao Ramesh was excellent, Nadiya was natural, Sai Kumar was stupendous, Vikram Sahidev as a young rebel against the society has shown a lot of promise and vibrant screen presence, Pradeep Rawat was brief but good.

Others did their bit as required and added value.

Analysis:

The very concept of a debutante helming a star hero and that too someone who has strong commercial and mass appeal tends to emit many apprehensions. Even if that occurs, there are bound to be those instances where you can see the amateurish approach. In fact, many seasoned directors also tend to show few amateur stuff. However, when you are watching ‘Naa Peru Surya’ not even a second reminds you that it is coming from a debutante. That’s how well Vakkantham Vamsi has designed the whole product. This man has not only shown his mettle in wielding the megaphone but also his expert domain, writing. The way Vamsi has penned the dialogues will hit like bullets in the heart. Almost every dialogue has a conclusion and it connects the dots so well that you just can’t help wonder how he could do that. There is no doubt that Vamsi has put his heart and soul into the film and he has ensured every member of his team does the same.

The film takes off without any confusion and the first half just breezes through. Incidentally, the heroine enters the movie a little late, but still, the screenplay is so gripping that hardly anyone thinks about her.

The interval bang is intense and the second half takes a completely different turn.

The icing on the cake is the climax. This is certainly going to take the audience by surprise and they would walk out with their hearts filled with contentment.

Overall, ‘Naa Peru Surya’ is a complete package of action, entertainment, romance, sentiment and comedy which can potentially entertain the audience of all age groups.

Technical Values:

One of the major attractions of the film is the rich production values. The way Lagadapati Sridhar on his Rama Lakshmi Creations has gone generous with the budget to get the best output onscreen.

It is not just the production values but the choice of artists and technicians which goes to show a thorough groundwork and focus on getting the best was evident.

The cinematography was exceptional, the art department was colorful, the costumes were trendy, the fights were realistic and editing is sharp. Two songs 'Lover also fighter also...' and 'iraga iraga...' go well with masses while the other songs go in sync with the flow of the narrative. The background score brought peaks at moments. It is a widely assumed phenomenon that except Bappi Lahari in olden days, no music director from Bollywood could grip the hearts of mass Telugu audience. But Vishal-Sekhar has delivered something in sync with the expectations of the commercial Telugu film audience.

Highlights:

- Allu Arjun's high voltage performance and dances
- Sarath Kumar's fight sequence at the dining table
- Sai Kumar family's patriotism episode
- Dialogues

Dim Lights:

- Nothing in specific

Final Verdict: Yes, it's a hat trick hit among big films in TFI after Rangasthalam and Bharat Ane Nenu. Just go and watch it.
