Sridevi gets the prestigious ANR National Award 2013

Actor and yesteryear heroine Sridevi is chosen for the prestigious ANR Award for the year 2013. The award will be officially announced supposedly in the second week of this month in an official press meet by the Akkineni International Foundation.

The ANR National Award is a prestigious award instituted by the Akkineni International Foundation in the honor of the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. This is annually conferred to film personalities recognizing their exceptional contributions to cinema. This year it is going to be conferred to Sridevi, an exemplary actor and thecelestial beauty herself! Previously several eminent film personalities like Syam Benegal (2012), Hema Malini (2011), Dr. K. Balachander (2010), Lata Mangeskar, Anjali Devi, Shabana Azmi and Dev Anand were awarded with the esteemed ANR Award.

Every year, the evergreen hero ANR would announce the award but this time, due to his ill heath, it is his son actor Nagarjuna Akkineni who is carrying the onus of organizing the press meet and look after the proceedings.
