New Controversy On Amala Paul Engagement

June 12, 2014 - 01:20 PM IST

Gorgeous lady Amala Paul and ace filmmaker AL Vijay are getting married today in Chennai.

Since Amala Paul is popular in all the three prominent regional industries, celebs from Kollywood, Tollywood and Mollywood are expected to grace this big fat wedding. The guest list includes some big names like Ajith, Vijay, Vikram, Anushka Shetty, Fahadh Fazil-Nazriya Nazim, GV Prakash, Mahesh Babu, Naga Chaitanya, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan Teja, Arya, Rajinikath, Kamal Haasan and many more.

But on the flipside, there is a controversy sprouting up over their recent engagement ceremony at the Saint Judes Church, Cochin, Kerala. There were protests from a section of the faithful that the church had allowed the bethrothal ceremony of the actress to a non-Christian inside the church. They had stated that a facility denied to them was given to Amala only because she was an actor.

Now Amala Paul’s father offered a clarification on this stating that the couple had only offered prayers at a church at nearby Aluva. In a letter to the Varapuzha archdiocese, Paul Varghese, the father said the two had gone to the church to offer prayers and no bethrothal ceremony was held. A section of the media had misinformed saying the bethrothal ceremony was held, he stated. The two are set to get married as per Hindu traditions in Chennai today.

Well, all the fuss apart, let’s wish the lovely couple a Happy Married Life!
