Nee Jathaga Nenundali - Audio Talk

June 16, 2014 - 12:55 PM IST Nee Jathaga Nenundali

Nee Jathaga Nenundali is one of the most anticipated remakes of this year. Everybody knows the tremendous success its Hindi original Aashiqui 2 has achieved which starred Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. The film was such a musical sensation all over India that, every aspiring singer or a performer dreamed of performing those songs on stage. Now this film is remade in Telugu with Sachin and Nazia Hussain in the lead roles. People would naturally expect the songs to be unique and suitable for Telugu environment but alas, the disappointment arrived when the same tunes and orchestration was used for the Telugu version by the composers Mithoon, Jeet Ganguly and Ankit Tiwari.

While the only standing out aspect of the album is the defining lyrics by Chandrabose, the disappointing factor is the Telugu diction by few non-Telugu singers like Shaarib and Ankit Tiwari. Even the Talented singer of Hyderabad, Sreeram Chandra couldn’t get the Telugu flavor right because the tunes were originally composed for Hindi lyrics and looked odd when they were used in Telugu. Vintunnava Nestham (Two Versions), and Nijama Kaadha stand out little better in this repetitive album.

Coming to the overall feel of the album, Nee Jathaga Nenundali neither offers anything interesting nor anything novel for the Telugu Audience and because of the extreme popularity of the original Hindi version, this version would be less appreciated by the audience. Talented composing trio Mithoon, Jeet Ganguly and Ankit Tiwari should have been aware of this and composed some fresh tunes for the Telugu version instead of presenting the same compositions. Moreover, the album lacks the original soulfulness and pain which is evident clearly in each of the Bollywood compositions.
