Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the most likeable, jovial and talented actresses not only in Telugu Cinema but also in South Indian Cinema. Her sweet looks, innocent histrionics and fantastic screen presence is a huge asset for every character she adorns. She is in cloud 9 with the brilliant success of Manam and her latest film Auto Nagar Surya also features her opposite Naga Chaitanya directed by the talented Dev Katta. Here is an iQlik exclusive interview of the vivacious actress:
Hello Samantha..how are you doing?
I am doing great! Thank you!
How do you feel about the success marathon you are facing right now?
I feel so happy and blessed with it. I can confidently say I've been a part of almost every successful film that released in South India. I take pride in saying that because of my hard work paid off (Smiles)
Your chemistry with Naga Chaitanya is much talked about always! How is it working with him?
Auto Nagar Surya is the third film with him. Chaitu is a wonderful friend of mine off screen as well. It is always a pleasure and extremely comfortable working with him.
Tell us more about Auto Nagar Surya..
During filming for Brundavanam, I signed Auto Nagar Surya. The team worked very hard for the film for 2 and half years. Finally I am happy with the output. Dev Katta Sir did a great job. I feel wonderful about the success of the film. I am participating in the promotions so that the film’s team would be happy. I hope the film fetches more returns.
Tell us about your director Dev Katta..
When I watched his Prasthanam, I instantly felt like working with him. Luckily, I got the offer for Auto Nagar Surya and I readily agreed! I was amazed to watch Sai Kumar’s performance in Prasthanam and I'm really blessed to work with him in ANS. His voice and acting skills are simply amazing! He is a legend!
Do you have any favorite moments in ANS?
I love the scene where I tell to Chaitu that the kids should be born with my features. It applies a lot to my real self! I really like the melody Mancheli... from the film. It was filmed aesthetically!
How do you feel about the success of Manam?
I got best scope to perform in the film. I had a wonderful time working with Chaitu. Working for such a groundbreaking film along with such good star cast is really a rare opportunity one can ever get.
How do you find your acting career’s journey has shaped up till now?
It still looks like a beautiful dream. I started with Gautham Menon’s Yem Maaya Chesave and right from then I got chance to work with legendary actors throughout my career. I feel it is a mix of luck along with my hard work to get such wonderful roles to perform till now. I really feel like a God’s princess!
Now you are all geared up to act with three biggies in Tamil Industry- Surya, Vikram and Ajith. How does that feel?
I usually don’t look at a film in the hero’s point of view. Director’s work, storyline and my characterization are mainly important to me. If you see all my films, I always did roles of substance and performance. Lingusami is a great director who gives good roles for his heroines instead of making her confined to songs or glamour. Muragadoss created history with an interesting subject like Ghajini earlier. I feel thrilled to work with actor par excellence Vikram too.
Any reason behind your peculiar fashion style off screen?
I like fashion and like to experiment with my clothing. I also like following new trends in the Fashion Industry. That is why I don’t confine myself to one style of dressing but go on trying out new looks.
Congratulations once again and we wish you all the best for your upcoming films!
