Though the Telugu and Tamil film industries work like brothers-in-arms it must be said that there is a distinct difference in the flavor and composition of the films. While the Telugu films are more
entertainment oriented with an escapist approach the Tamil films are closer to reality with focus on concept and substance.

Also, the Kollywood makers give preference to adding more literature and poetry in their film titles or their songs. But even Tollywood seems to have its own share of artistic thinkers. Director Ramesh Varma is all set to take off with a new movie titled as Abbayitho Ammayi. This is slated to be a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil. Now, the Tamil version has been titled as ‘Paruvame…Puthiya Paadal Paadu..’. These words are the lines from a soul stirring chartbuster of a Tamil film Nenjathai Killathe which came in 1980. The music isby maestro Ilaiyaraaja. It is a poetic and interesting title Ramesh Varma has kept and that too with Ilaiyaraaja brand. Those who heard this say it has a very strong youthful feel and gives a nostalgic feeling for 30 plus age group. These days, Telugu titles are coming from film songs and now the same trend is reaching Tamil industry thanks to this director.
