While the other segments of the entertainment industry have a certain percentage of women around, the department of music in the entertainment industry is literally monopolized by men so to speak. It is not that women do not have the talent to compose music but for some reason the ladies have not taken a liking to it.

But one person broke that jinx and we must be proud because she happens to be a Telugu lady. She is none other than M M Srilekha and guess what? She is the only lady music director in entire India. Today is a special day in her life as Srilekha celebrates her birthday and there is another icing on the cake.

She has completed nineteen years of film industry career as a music director. Her debut venture was Taj Mahal which came in the year 1995. Srilekha started composing in early teens and music runs in her family as she happens to be the cousin of the illustrious music maker M M Keeravani. Iqlik wishes Srilekha a very happy birthday and more success ahead.
