It is one thing to look towards the future and another to visit our past. For most of us, the latter leaves a nostalgic experience and a sense of curiosity. And films are one medium which have the ability to take us back in time that we can never imagine or visualize. Due credit goes to the filmmakers and actors who work towards it.
One such attempt has now come from a big hero. He is none other than Kamal Haasan and his new movie Uttama Villain gave a glimpse of it. Well, few months ago, the first look of the film was unveiled and Kamal was seen in a scary yet fabulous face. Well, this is an inspiration from Theyyam.
If you are wondering what this is then Theyyam happens to be a 1000 year old art form of worship which originates from Kerala. Apparently, Kamal does a role in the film which is that of an eighth century drama artist. As part of that, he practices Theyyam. Uttama Villain is targeting November 7th for release as it happens to be Kamal’s birthday so get set for this folks!
