T-Wood And K-Wood In Similar Tension

October 16, 2014 - 05:12 PM IST Rabhasa | Aagadu

There is a lot of interchange that happens between the Tollywood and Kollywood circuits in terms of actors, technicians, stories and many other things. But it appears that both industries are currently facing the same tension like brothers-in-arms. This has to do with their business and release of films.

Apparently, Tollywood which has been dwindling in its economy due to back to back flops of big ticket flicks like Rabhasa, Aagadu suffered yet another blow. This is in the form of the cyclone Hudhud which has battered many parts of north Andhra. Many films have postponed their release while many theatres are in no condition to screen films in that region. So, things have come to a standstill affecting Tollywood in a big way.

As for Kollywood, the tensions are not due to any natural disaster but a political drama. The arrest and imprisonment of AIADMK boss and former CM Jayalalithaa has applied brakes on Tamil releases. Many areas in that state are still experiencing bandhs, protests and what not. So, while Mother Nature is giving jolts to Tollywood, Mother (Amma) is giving jolts to Kollywood.
