Why Nag Didn't Ask This?

February 24, 2015 - 10:09 AM IST Nagarjuna

These days, whenever we think of King Akkineni Nagarjuna, more than his stardom and charisma, we are connecting strongly to his role as a quiz master in the famous show Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu. While the show is going great guns, one question has popped up in the minds of the home audience.

This happened after the tennis sensation from Hyderabad Sania Mirza became the celebrity guest on the hot seat for an episode. Apparently, the entire conversation of Sania-Nag happened in English. The viewers are saying Nag should have tried to make her speak in Telugu and why he didn’t ask Sania about Telugu.

This is a rather rare opportunity that someone like Sania has come into the hot seat of a famous program. They are suggesting maybe some rehearsals should have been done and it would have added more impact. For that matter, even cricketer Md Azharuddin doesn’t speak Telugu much. Both Sania and Azhar are born and brought up in Hyderabad so it is hard to believe they cannot speak Telugu. Probably they might have felt that their international appeal would come down. If only Nag had asked Sania to speak in Telugu, that would have made a big difference.
