Veteran Cinematographer Vincent is No More

Eminent cinematographer and filmmaker Aloysius Vincent (1928-2015) is no more.

The 86yr old noted cinematographer breathed his last this morning around 11 AM at a private hospital in Chennai undergoing treatment for pneumonia.

Starting his career as a studio boy in Gemini Studio, he later emerged to be one of the prominent cinematographers in the country. He worked for many films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi and is known for many classics like Prem Nagar (Hindi), Jyothi, Adavi Ramudu, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Major Chandrakanth, Annamayya etc.

He directed over 30 films and has been awarded the honorary membership in the esteemed Indian Society of Cinematographers in 2003. Both his sons Ajayan Vincent and Jayanan Vincent are ace cinematographers in South India.
