Allu Arjun-Trivikram’s Son of Satyamurthy has seen some a good opening day. Despite the mixed reviews, the crowd puller succeeded to put up some staggering figures at the box-office.
The occupancy is good at all centers and bright in the overseas, say trade pundits. But the film has unfortunately faced the heat of the Seshadri Encounter issue in Tamil Nadu. Going into the details, protests over the Seshadri Encounter issue are still rife in various parts of Tamil Nadu and the protestors are out rightly targeting Telugu establishments and Telugu films as well.
Our Telugu films have a decent release in Tamil Nadu and even Son of Satyamurthy had a significant release but a section of protestors in and around city of Kanchipuram has coerced the theaters to stall the screening of the film on its release day (April 9). While some centers have resumed the screening, many did not fearing the protests. This has indeed has a significant effect on the collections of Son of Satyamurthy in Tamil Nadu. Let’s wish the screening resumes and the movie will pick up in the weekend.
