In recent times, our Indian film makers are also increasing our production value standards. Irrespective of the story’s demand, they are not compromising on the budget. In recent times, there are certain films like Shankar’s I and Rajamouli’s Baahubali that were talked about for their sheer budgets alone.
Now one more film joined the club. It is Tamil Superstar Vijay’s upcoming film Puli. The movie is the much anticipated movie because of its star cast like Vijay, Shruti Hassan, Kicha Sudeepa and this film marks the comeback of eternal beauty Sridevi in South after two decades.
Adding to this, this movie is being made with a budget sum of around Rs 118 crores! A village set had been erected in Talakona forest near Tirupathi under the supervision of Art Director T.Mutthuraj with about 200 carpenters, 100 moulders and 50 welders.
On this beautifully erected set, lead actors Vijay and Shruthi are shooting for a song that comprises of around 200 dancers and 300 junior artists and the shocking fact is that the estimated cost for this song is around Rs 5.25 crores.
This movie is directing by Chimbudevan and producers for this magnum opus are P.T. Selvakumar and Shibu. No wonder the film’s budget is above Rs 100 crores and given the stardom of Vijay and the film being the biggest socio-fantasy film in recent times, Puli movie is expected to rewrite all the records.
