RGV's 'Killing Veerappan' Goes International

April 15, 2015 - 09:30 PM IST Ram Gopal Varma

There was a time when those who lived near the Nallamalai forests of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka had a reign of terror and fear. The reason for that is the forest brigand Veerappan and it took many years for both the states to finally put an end to his regime. Now, the entire story is going to be seen as a film.

The man behind this project is the eccentric genius Ram Gopal Varma and he has titled the film as Killing Veerappan without any confusion. But the talk now is about his making style. It is heard that the focus would be on how things were planned on nailing a hardcore criminal.

The film would be showing the emotional intensity of DGP Vijay Kumar who spearheaded the operation of killing Veerappan and the notorious Sandalwood and tusk smuggler was eliminated. Inside news is that the first half of the film will give an insight on Veerappan and his activities while the second half focuses on how his end came. To top it all, RGV wants to take it to an international scale by taking it to film festivals and other foreign venues because he strongly believes this is one subject that would appeal universally. Kannada’s top star Shivarajkumar would be doing the role of DGP Vijay Kumar.
