Importing beautiful and talented actresses from neighboring states is not new for Tollywood. In fact, we had many brilliant actresses such as Sobhana, Revathi, Radha, and the current day sensational actress Nitya Menon hailing from Kerala and making it big in Tollywood. There is another actress who is a perfect example for the phrase “Beauty with Brains” and she is none other than Asin Thottumkal.
This innocent yet clever looking beauty was initially spotted by Puri Jagannadh and he featured her as a traditional Tamil girl in Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi first. However, her big break came up when she acted opposite Suriya in the experimental film Ghajini. Asin can not only act brilliant but also look ultra glamorous in song sequences. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was so impressed by her that he insisted to get the reprise the role in Hindi version of Ghajini- which also became a smashing hit.
Interestingly, Asin’s personal life has more resemblances to her memorable character Kalpana in Ghajini where she plays the role of a woman who falls in love with CEO of a mobile company. In real life as well, she fell in love with Rahul Sharma, a mobile company CEO and met him for the first time in a flight- just like the movie! However, the sad news is that Asin has decided to quit acting after marriage as she feels highly contented with her success in personal front!
