Another Reason Behind Title Change

You cannot be sure that the title of a movie will remain the same till the audio release happens of that movie. There are many reasons why filmmakers keep changing their titles and though the frequency is less, the cause is always valid. One movie belongs to that category is the bilingual flick Rai.

This is being helmed by the eccentric genius Ram Gopal Varma. At the beginning, he put Appa as the title because he wanted to do it in Kannada but later on he decided to make in Kannada and Hindi so he named it as Rai. Now, the ban on dubbing movies got lifted in Karnataka so RGV has changed his strategy.

He is planning to shoot in Hindi and then dub many scenes in Kannada but the key close-up shots will be reshot in Kannada to ensure the nativity is maintained and that way an authentic bilingual would be shaped. Rai is reportedly a story based on the life of the Karnataka gangster Mutthappa Rai.
