Regina Cassandra has stolen many young hearts with her memorable performance in many youthful movies from Routine Love Story till the recent Ravi Teja starrer Power. Now the charming girl is all set to enthrall the audience in Sai Dharam Tej’s starrer Subrahmanyam for Sale directed by Harish Shankar. Her vivacious nature, innocent looks and tremendous acting skills made Telugu Film Industry look for her work in further films. Here is an iQlik chitchat with the young actress:

Hello Regina… how are you doing?
Hi…

Please tell us about your role in Subrahmanyam for Sale…
I play the role of Sita, an innocent girl enacting smartness. She is essentially a traditional girl brought up in a big joint family. The story deals about how she met Subrahmanyam and the changes he brought in her life!

You look glamorous as well. Any special measures?
(Smiles) If I’m looking glamorous in the film, the credit entirely goes to Harish sir. He knows how to show his heroines beautifully. He could identify the little yet beautiful aspects in me that enhance my beauty naturally more than any special measures. For instance, the mole on my waist!

You seem to share a great chemistry with Sai Dharam Tej. What’s the secret?
(Laughs) He is a good friend moreover Harish sir had great confidence in both of us and prepared us for all the scenes. We rehearsed many times before going for the take and hence the chemistry especially in the intimate scenes.

Any notable difference in Sai Dharam Tej from his debut film?
Teju enhanced a lot as an actor from his debut film but he is the same friendly and grounded person as he was before.

About the music in Subrahmanyam for Sale..
Mickey scored music for my earlier film Routine Love Story as well. He has the great balance between commercial values and classy tunes. I still wonder how he does that so effortlessly and I enjoyed the entire album.

You danced for the rehash of Chiranjeevi’s popular song Guvva Gorinkatho. How was the experience?
It was great! We didn’t want to imitate the old song in any way but tried to bring a new flavor to it. Mickey did a great job and we gave our best to keep it equally massy. Hope fans like it.

You seem to have upped your glamour quotient. Any special reason?
First things first, I never got the word ‘Glamour’ and its significance during my early days. But with experience, I understood more about it and now I’ve no qualms about being glamorous as per the needs of the script. But I communicate straight with the director if I’m uncomfortable.

Are you planning for any image makeover?
Not really. I’m quite happy with what I am right now and I feel I’ve improved a lot.

Any memorable experiences in SFS Shoot?
(Smiles) Oh ya! Back in India, shooting is different but we shot the major part of the film in the US. And it was more like a family outing for me because the entire unit used to travel in a bus there. There was scene we shot in some chilling 5 degrees climate with Teju and Brahmanandam sir. They both came dressed up in sweaters and all but I had no such thing. On top of it, it was an emotional scene with few lengthy dialogues. Like never before in my career so far, I took thirty takes to get it right. I broke down into tears after Harish sir okayed the shot.

Any plans about doing Tamil movies simultaneously?
Well, I am quite comfortable in Tollywood right now. But it doesn’t mean I won’t act in other language films. I will definitely do more films if I get chance.

What about your next project with Bunny?
I am waiting for the final confirmation from the makers.

Any last thoughts you want to share about Subrahmanyam for Sale?
It is an out and out Harish Shankar style commercial film. A great family entertainer too. Don’t miss it!

Okay..wish you all the best for Subrahmanyam for Sale!
Thanks a lot!
