Kerala Govt gets Record Tax from Baahubali

Historic Hit Baahubali has set records across the globe. It was declared a humongous hit in the Telugu states, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, across India and even the globe. But it all started with Kerala where Baahubali has set a record much before its release.
 
Baahubali adorned a Guinness Record for the biggest known poster that was unveiled in Kochi on the 27th of June prior to its release. Though the dubbing versions of Telugu films were releasing in Kerala from a while, Baahubali has surged the market with its record run. Forget about the record openings the movie has registered, even after 75 days of successful Baahubali is roaring aloud in Kerala. As per latest reports, Baahubali has collected about Rs 3 crores in 75 days from a single theatre in Trivandrum. On top of it, the Kerala government has received an entertainment tax of about Rs 58 lakhs for Baahubali and this is the first time Kerala govt is receiving such a huge amount from a single film.
 
So, besides records in gross collections and distributor shares, Baahubali is creating new records in Entertainment tax category as well. Well, this is just tip of the iceberg and there is more to come when Baahubali is released in China. Keep watching the space for more updates.
