Sher is an upcoming action packed entertainer starring Kalyan Ram and Sonal Chauhan in lead roles. Music for the film is composed by S.S.Thaman and here is an iQlik exclusive audio review of the album:
A typical hero’s introduction song Hare Rama sung by Deepak arrives in style. Srimani’s lyrics suit the theme appropriately and the rhythm section takes the front seat- a natural factor for every Thaman’s album. However, the track sounds melodious despite its trendiness and modernity. The interludes are pleasantly woven around strings, percussions and recurring Ektara usage.
Surangani is a Jazzy duet with peculiar electric guitars and Hip-Hop beats. It is a cakewalk for talented singers like Deepak and Malavika to pull off this song with ease. Srimani adopts storytelling styled narration for lyric writing for this otherwise urbane song.
Thaman gets into the groove with a feel good solo Chal Chalona in the presence of live drumming, velvety electric guitars and impressive chord progression. This song carries the actual soul of the high voltage album in breathtakingly convincing manner. The interludes are stylishly blended with strings, passionate riffs and trademark electric guitars.
The term modern duet gets a new meaning with Naina Naina sung by newcomer Anudeep and Sanjana Kalmanje’s metallic vocals. Apart from the flawless usage of guitar and bass work, poetic lyrics by Kandikonda make a brilliant impact on the listener. It is interesting to see how the composer involves modern sounding blend decently with the contemporary touches.
Napere Pinky is a typical item song sung by M.M.Mansi and master of folk renditions- Simha! However, the orchestration is an impressive fusion between folk lead vocals and ambient sounds. This track gives the essential mass touch to this trendy album. The trademark Thaman touches with harmonium and drum rolls can be heard throughout.
Verdict:
Sher can be termed as one of the most stylish albums for Kalyan Ram till date. It is quite classy and at the same time high on energy levels.
