Priyadarshan is one of the most unique filmmakers from the house of Malayalam cinema who provided some brilliant storylines for Telugu films as well. Many thought provoking films such as Peddarikam, Allari Pilla came from Malayalam with story penned by him. No Telugu movie fan can forget Nagarjuna starrer Nirnayam and Mohanlal’s Kaalapani which stunned the audiences.
This intelligent filmmaker shifted gears to Bollywood and got some memorable comedy hits such a Hera Pheri, De Dana Dan which were well received by the audiences. But now, he is making a Tamil film Sila Nerangalil which is aimed to promote AIDS awareness among the people.
In the first look, it may not look like a unique experiment because there are many films which are made for a social cause. But what Priyadarshan does here is- he added his unique comedy timing and entertainment factors to make it a fun watch. The film was originally written for Aamir Khan but due to dates issue, Priyadarshan roped in Amala Paul and her husband A.L.Vijay for the lead roles. Interestingly, it is the quickest film ever completed in just 16 days!
