January 09, 2016 - 08:38 PM IST Devi Sri Prasad | Jr Ntr

Jr.NTR is one of the most seasoned actors from the celebrated Nandamuri clan and he has proved his mettle with unique subjects every now and then. He is not only a brilliant dancer but also an actor with high emotional graph. After a promising comeback with Temper, the actor has gone through a makeover look for his latest film Nannaku Prematho directed by Sukumar. The film is all set to release next week and here is iQlik exclusive chitchat with the actor:

Hello NTR garu..
Hi..

You have put up lot of hard work for Nannaku Prematho. Are you into any last minute tensions about the flick?
I am not tensed at all. There are minor dubbing corrections which I would be doing on 13th. That’s it!

This is your 25th feature film. How special it is going to be?
There are no plans as such. In fact, I didn’t even count that it would be my 25th film.

How was it working with Sukumar?
We were planning to work together since long time and even made many unsuccessful attempts. But this story had a strong father-son sentiment and it finally worked.

Would you be interested to work with Sukumar in near future?
Definitely. It has been a pleasure to work with such a talented person.

What made you opt for this peculiar bearded look in Nannaku Prematho?
I did try many different looks before finalizing on this. I am glad that this look has been received well even before film’s release. The main reason for opting new look is because the main storyline is based on foreign location. At the same time, I am happy to be back to my usual look (Smiles).

How did your family like the new look you sported?
Well, my mom didn’t find it good but I am happy the audience liked it!

Is it true that you would be seen in dual role for the film?
No. The film runs in a timeline of 30 days and there is no dual role.

How different Nannaku Prematho would be compared to other regular father-son stories?
Though it is a regular father-son story film, the taking and presentation is quite new and fresh.

Your working experience with Jagapati Babu?
He is a big star. Initially, he had doubts about his characterization and whether people would accept him in such negative role. But I gave him the boost by telling that legends like Sr.NTR also opted all sorts of roles.

The best scene in Nannaku Prematho according to you?
Sukumar came up with five alternate climax sequences out of which one version touched me the most. In fact, it reminded me of my Dad. It is the best scene in the film.

There were some speculations that Sukumar wasn’t that clear about the script?
Not at all. He is quite clear about what he is doing and did lot of hardwork in short span of time from July- Jan.

What is your comment on the opinion that you choose to work only with successful filmmakers?
I wouldn’t agree with that because I gave chance to upcoming directors such as V.V.Vinayak (Aadhi), Rajamouli (Student no.1), Vara Mullapudi (Naa Alludu) and Vamshi Paidipally (Brundavanam). They were just in debut when I worked with them.

Did you feel the title Nannaku Prematho is more edging towards class audience?
The title is perfect for the film and I don’t think one should segregate audience based on class and mass values.

There was a rumor about you planning to remake Sagara Sangamam?
Well, I am ready to do it but we need good directors to handle such classics once again.

Would you prefer doing a sequel to Aadhi or Adhurs with Vinayak?
I would want to do a sequel for Adhurs because it has more scope for entertainment and comedy.

How are you going to celebrate Sankranthi this year?
It would be a low key affair at home. I am relieved that my film is releasing for festival time.

Is it true that a cold war is happening in Nandamuri family?
No! We all are very affectionate and sincerely hope each of our films score well at the Box Office.

How much importance do you prefer to give for records?
All I am concerned is about making my fans happy. Records and rest of the things are secondary.

Okay. Thanks and wish you the best for Nannaku Prematho!
Thank you!
