Mahesh gets Less Than Pawan!

May 18, 2016 - 11:02 AM IST Mahesh Babu | Pawan Kalyan

The best aspect of Tollywood is perhaps that every happening Telugu hero has his own fan following despite the bottleneck competition they face. Every hero has his own market even in terms of Satellite Rights. However, it also happens that a leading hero might occupy a higher demand based on the trend and the mood of the film they are on.

Pawan Kalyan’s Sardaar Gabbar Singh might have bombed at the Box Office but it created great hype before the film’s release which led to remarkable business.  The film’s satellite rights were bagged by Zee Telugu for a fancy rate of 13 crore. The main reason for this demand is the brilliant fan following for Pawan and also the film’s promise that it would be an out and out mass entertainer.

Coming to Mahesh Babu’s latest offering Brahmotsavam was being promoted as a pakka family entertainer and as a result, the satellite rights of the film were bagged for 11.5 crore which is lesser compared to SGS!  This must be because Brahmotsavam features Mahesh in a cooler role without much punch lines or mass appeal. Coincidentally, Zee Telugu is the channel which bagged the rights for Brahtmosavam as well as Mahesh’s earlier hit film Srimanthudu.
