You find the culture of converting novels into movies a lot in Hollywood circuit but that doesn’t happen much in Indian cinema. Lately, Bollywood has got onto biopics and they take the help of books but Tollywood is way behind in that aspect. However, one novel seems to be changing their moods.
It is ‘Ranga Half-Pants’ which is penned by Suman Kumar. This is based on the backdrop of Chittoor during the 80s and 90s and it revolves around two protagonists. Ranga is a teenager while Prasad is a young man. Both are in two different stages of life with issues of their own to deal with.
Things change when their worlds intersect and what happens after that forms the essence. More than the plot, it is the way the whole story is narrated which has caught Tollywood’s attention. It may not be long before someone is going to buy the rights of this book and make it as a film then.
