Censor Board Rejects that Film!

Nowadays Censor Board is grabbing the headlines quite often and unfortunately it is happening for the wrong reasons.

Going into the details, a Malayalam film named- Ka Bodyscapes got rejected by the regional censor board due to its objectionable content. Local Regional officer A Prathiba wrote the the rejection letter to the producer-director Jayan Cherian is as follows-

The revising committee felt that the entire content of the Malayalam feature film Ka Bodyscapes is ridiculing, insulting and humiliating Hindu religion, in particular portraying Hindu Gods in a poor light. Derogatory words are used against women. “The Hindu God ‘Hanuman’ is shown as coming in the books titled ‘I am Gay’ and other homosexual books. The film offends human sensibilities by vulgarity, obscenity and depravity…,”

Meanwhile this film story revolves around the plot of gay love story and earlier this censor screening was scheduled to Chennai on 5th July where it was cancelled due to unknown reasons. Finally the censor committee watched it on 15th of July and rejected it out rightly. And director Jayan said, their basic attitude towards the idea of same sex love is that it’s vulgar and obscene, he said, adding he would move the Kerala High Court for relief.
