The Information & Broadcasting Ministry of India has refused to renew the broadcast licences of popular Telugu general entertainment channel MAA.
In the wake of the financial irregularities charges being faced by Mr. Nimmagadda Prasad (one of existing board of directors in MAA TV) in the sensational Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal financial assets case, the Union Ministry denied renewal of licences for four of MAA channels (MAA TV, MAA Gold, MAA Music & MAA Movies) citing that a person who is facing serious financial allegations wouldn’t be permitted to run a Television channel.
Well since MAA TV was recently undertaken by the Star TV group, the broadcast services are still uninterrupted.
