Demonetization Effect on Mega Films?

November 15, 2016 - 01:49 PM IST

The sudden decision of demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupees notes in India has become much buzz among the citizens and it also hit the film business now. Many films are backing off from release because the audiences are in no mood to watch upcoming flicks in the middle of currency tensions.

This currency effect seems to have hit the upcoming big releases from Mega family namely Dhruva and Chiranjeevi’s 150th film Khaidi No 150 as well. Initially, Dhruva was planned to be releasing on 2nd December and Khaidi No 150 is expected to be a Sankranthi 2017 release.

But as per latest reports, Dhruva might be pushed to Sankranthi and to avoid mega clash, Khaidi No 150 would be pushed further for Summer! We will have to see how this impacts other big projects lined up for this schedule.
