From the moment Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the demonetization of the 500 and 1000 rupee notes, there are many sectors which got affected and first among them is the film industry. The theatrical collections took an alarming drop from next day.
This was also seen in the south cinema and many film folks were in a quandary of sorts. However, one state seems to be unfazed with the situation. It is the state of Tamil Nadu and reports reveal the collections for all the releases have been steady with not much hiccups.
According to reports, some theatres are accepting old notes so that has helped in a big way. The Kollywood folks are breathing a sigh of relief and they are thanking the Tamil crowds for showing so much passion towards cinema even during these tough times.
