The Bollywood flick Dangal was a major success across the nation and all of us were impressed with the way Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan weaved a tale based on the life of the noted wrestler Mahavir Phogat. However, the real impact of the film was known at a very late stage.
‘Dangal’ was released in China and it created a major storm at the box office brushing aside even promising Chinese and Hong Kong movies. In this process, Dangal also got past ‘Bahubali 2’ which was sitting coolly on the number one spot for a long time. Now, another Dangal seems to be on the cards.
Point is, the Malayalam movie Drisyam which has been released in all mainstream languages across India is now preparing to be released in China albeit in their own version. The news is that a Chinese production house has bought the remake rights. The analysts are saying when dubbing movies like ‘Dangal’ can rock that way then why not Drisyam. For the record, this is the first Chinese remake from India.
