The name Akun Sabharwal has enough power to give sleepless nights to many powerful celebrities of the Telugu Film Industry and the reason for that is his battle against drugs and its strong presence in the industry. That episode was silenced thanks to some big guns of the political system but that has not silenced Akun’s set of initiatives.
This time though he has targeted not the celebrities but the multiplexes. Apparently, the multiplex establishments have been looting the audience when it comes to the pricing of the foods they sell in their canteens. For instance, a small box of popcorn in Inox Kacheguda costs a maddening Rs 210 and one can only fume with anger.
Akun Sabharwal is the controller of Telangana State Legal Metrology department and he has now passed orders that the multiplexes need to sell all stuff at MRP. This rule is going to be implemented from August 1st onwards. This is indeed a rejoicing news for all the public but they are now apprehensive whether these theatre chains will come up with a devious ploy to manipulate the numbers and sell at a premium again.
For now, thanks a lot Mr Akun!
