Nagarjuna's Ad Lands In Court?

July 20, 2018 - 10:03 AM IST Nagarjuna

Creativity is the name of the game when it comes to the world of advertising but sometimes the same ad is used as a response to an allegation or an issue. When the ad has got something to do with real life the makers need to be careful because it could lead to a controversy. Just like how it is happening with the ad of King Akkineni Nagarjuna.

The handsome ladykiller is seen in the latest ad of Kalyan Jewellers donning the avatar of an old man who approaches the bank citing his pension has been credited twice. The bank manager suggests Nag to be silent and enjoy this double deposit but Nag stands up to his ideals and reprimands the manager, eventually the latter realizes his folly.

While that sounds very idealistic to watch, it has not gone well with the real life banking folks. The bank employees union has taken it personally and they are proceeding to take legal action against Kalyan Jewellers. Incidentally, the intent of the ad was to convey Kalyan jewellers is genuine and not fake but it backfired this way.
