The release of Gold, an Akshay Kumar starrer is inching closer to release and the makers have now released another rousing trailer. The historical sports drama is inspired from India’s first Olympic gold medal was written as a film and almost a year was spent by the team in its making. According to the initial plans, the film is releasing on August 15 on the occasion of our Independence Day.
This new trailer shows the incredible performance of Indian hockey team and their coach Tapan Das, played by Akshay Kumar. This drama takes place only after India gets its Independence.
Looks like the audience is surely going to get a nail-biting stuff in the theatres and Akshay has put in a lot of efforts to step into the shoes of Tapan Das. Building a new team with all new people to compete with England is not a small thing and how the coach manages to train his students and bring the medal home is Gold, which is going to be a visual delight to the audience.
Directed by Reema Kagti, Gold is based on true incidents of Indian hockey team and Akshay's passion for the game. Like many other sports-based films which were made earlier, like Chak De, Sultan, Mary Kom, Dangal and some other films, Gold is also going to attract audiences to the theatres.
Produced by multifaceted Farhaan Akthar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the film features Mouni Roy as Tapan's wife and other key cast include Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Nikita Dutta and Vineet Kumar Singh.
