#MeToo: Actress Asha Saini alleges that B-town producer assaulted her

Now that the #MeToo movement picked up pace in India, several celebrities from various fields have flooded the social media with their stories of sexual assault and harassment. Among several prominent people who’re facing these allegations from the cinema field include versatile actor Nana Patekar, Noted writer Chetan Bhagat, Television actor Alok Nath and lyricist-cum-comedian Sunil Grover.

The stories of #MeToo has made the movement trending in India and the latest one to join the list is actress Flora Saini (well-known as Asha Saini). The actress made her Tollywood debut in 1999 and acted in films like Narasimha Naidu, Prematho Raa and Nuvvu Naaku Nachav. Having worked with star actors like Rajinikanth, Vijaykanth, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Jagapathi Babu and Rajasekhar down south, Saini also appeared in some Hindi films. She was lastly seen as a ghost in a 2018-film ‘Stree’, featuring Raj Kumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor.

Taking to Facebook, Saini shared her experience of improper behavior by her former boy friend and Hindi film producer Gaurang Doshi. In a long post where she also attached a photo of her fractured face, Saini wrote: “That's me.. Valentine's day 2007 beaten up by a known producer Gaurang Doshi' who I loved n was dating then .. this was the last of the one year abuse I took..came out with a fractured jaw n a scarred soul for life.”

She has been getting some hundreds of responses in the comment box and is applauded as ‘brave heart’ from the netizens. On top of it, she also offered her support to all the people who’re standing up to speak on sexual abuse. Several similar stories are widespread on social media, from the women in all fields, describing the incidents suffered by them at work or public places.
