The way film stars are treated in India is very different from the way the rest of the world’s stars are eyed. Some of them are looked at as icons and worshipped as demigods. Of course, the number of such demigods is quite a few and top in that list is Style Samrat Rajinikanth. His mania surpasses every other star hero.

Given his glory and history, one would expect his film to have a red carpet welcome but much to everyone’s surprise, his new movie is facing a big blow in the Telugu circuit. We are talking about the film ‘Petta’ which has been helmed by the budding yet talented filmmaker Karthik Subburaj. Here are the details.

Reports from Chennai reveal the film wants to arrive in January as part of the Sankranthi festival season but the Telugu buyers and exhibitors are not keen to offer the theatres. Also, there are many big movies arriving in Telugu making it tough for Rajini to make his foray. Only his upcoming release ‘2.0’ and its impact at the box office might change the dynamics.
