Why Mistreatment For Telugu Cinema In Chennai?

November 29, 2018 - 10:37 AM IST

In the last few years, Telugu filmmakers proved that our films have Pan-India appeal and at the same time, our films gained massive attention from the bigwigs of each industry in India.

But, much before that, our audiences and media welcomed and encouraged Kollywood films with open arms and celebrated their star heroes in a big way. Our treatment to Kollywood films, their star actors & musicians were always overwhelming but now the question arises that do our artists and technicians get similar treatment in Chennai? Starting from Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to Vijay, Suriya, Vikram and Ajith, every star hero's movie is getting dubbed into Telugu to enjoy the simultaneous release in AP and Telangana.

But, the trend shows that their media is hardly interested in encouraging our films and stars in Chennai. Telugu blockbusters like Baahubali, Arjun Reddy, Rangasthalam & Srimanthudu have made exceptional business in Chennai but there is a visible difference when it comes to their media's treatment to our cinema.

Also, both the big-budget and small-scale films of Kollywood gets good coverage, response and openings in Telugu states. Whereas, our makers are yet to make a splash in that direction. But, there is a hope that our coming-of-age movies will be able to grab support from Chennai media and audiences.

Leaving the past aside, our latest sensation Vijay Deverakonda has emerged big in Tamil industry as well while the renowned producer Dil Raju has entered their arena to make Indian-2 with Kamal Haasan.
