None of the releases this week got the unanimous positive talk, be it Sharwanand-Hanu Raghavapudi's Padi Padi Leche Manasu, Varun Tej-Sankalp Reddy's Antariksham 9000KMPH, Sandalwood remake KGF and Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan's Zero. But with the long weekend and X Mas eve, the filmmakers are hoping and praying that Jesus Christ will show mercy and save their films from tanking at the box office.
While Sharwanand-Sai Pallavi's romantic entertainer Padi Padi Leche Manasu got a divided talk and many felt that though the first half was beautifully picturised and narrated by Hanu Raghavapudi, he completely botched up the second part with dragging scenes and cliched narration. Sankalp Reddy's space thriller Antakrisham 9000 KMPH with Mega Prince Varun Tej too hit the same roadblock. Though all of them are showering praises on Sankalp Reddy's hard work, extensive research, many felt that he lost the plot completely in the second half. He tested the patience of viewers with his cinematic liberties and missing logic. Lack of commercial elements too undid the good work.
Sandalwood remake KGF, for all its controversies, turned out to be a routine story with no real twists and turns. Even Shah Rukh Khan's much talked about Zero, for all the hard work of Shah Rukh as Dwarf, suffered from insipid narration. Wonder whether Jesus can save these films at the box office.
