It is known that Suriya Shivakumar is playing an NSG Commando in his upcoming film with KV Anand. The latest news is that the film is titled Kaappaan, in order to reflect the character. The director revealed that they have finished 70 per cent of the film’s shooting.
Kaappaan is a multi-starrer, which also has Mohanlal, Arya, Sayyeshaa, Boman Irani and Samuthirakhani. The team is currently enjoying their break as Suriya is busy finishing NGK. So shooting of Kaappaan will resume on January 17. The team has registered titles Kaappaan (saviour), Meetpaan (rescuer) and Uyirkaa (saviour of lives). On Christmas, the team asked their fans on social media to pick their favourite title among the three and on the Twitter poll, people chose Kaappaan. They also said that this title sounds better.
It also has a futuristic note – ‘He will save’, and that is how the film is going to end. So they gave a nod to Kaappaan. Suriya was recently back from his trip to the Maldives, where he celebrated the New Year, with family. Photographs of the actor with wife Jyothika, daughter Diya and son Dev were doing rounds on social media.
