Deepika Replaces Aamir Khan's Wife Kiran Rao

Deepika Padukone, as an actor, achieved new heights with her stellar performances in films like Om Shanthi Om, Love Aaj Kal, Chennai Express, Ramleela and Padmaavat. In her career spanning almost 13 years, Deepika worked in as many as three dozen movies including a Hollywood film. Many know that she is a star actress who also can deliver fine performance and most of the roles she played have dominated the male actors as well.

The 33-year old actress who recently got married to Ranveer Singh has been elected as the new Chairperson of MAMI (The Mumbai Academy of Movie Image). Kiran Rao, the wife of Bollywood Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan, served as chairperson of MAMI for four years prior to Deepika's selection. As per Bollywood reports, Kiran Rao exited from her position to handle her upcoming Bollywood project. Reacting about her successor, Kiran said: It is a welcoming move to appoint Deepika Padukone who's got a huge fan base across the country.

Confirming Deepika Padukone's appointment, MAMI director Anupama Chopra posted on her Twitter saying: To new beginnings! Thank you, Kiran for your faith and generosity and hard work. Excited to learn from and work with our new chairperson, the amazing @deepikapadukone! Excited about her new role, the star actress of Bollywood said: What an absolute honour...Let's do this!
