Akhil To Team Up With A Flop Director?

February 19, 2019 - 06:40 PM IST Bommarillu Bhaskar

It's not a normal thing for any actor to maintain the pace after giving three consecutive flops. At this point in time, an actor looks to collaborate with a successful director and picks up a minimum guarantee script to play safe. Young actor Akhil Akkineni is now going through a similar phase, after three back to back unsuccessful films: Akhil, Hello and Mr Majnu. Akhil is highly in need of a super hit now.

If his dad Nagarjuna comes to his rescue, he can get top directors for Akhil. But, surprisingly, Akhil is getting ready to team up with a flop director Bommarillu Bhaskar, who debuted in Telugu with a super successful film. Post Bommarillu, the director made movies with top actors like Allu Arjun (Parugu), Ram Charan (Orange) and Ram Pothineni (Ongole Gitta), but none of them impressed at the box-office. After 'Ongole Gitta', Bhaskar was ignored by everyone in the industry. When he's almost getting faded away, Akhil seems to have picked him for his fourth project.

One might think that is it necessary for an actor who's reeling under a series a flops to risk with a flop director. But, since it is reportedly going to be produced by Geetha Arts, there is a positive hope on it. All the films produced by Geetha Arts in the recent past emerged big at the box-office. Keeping the complete trust on the script, Akhil gave his nod to Bhaskar and only on the release day, we will get to know whether his risk gets paid off or not.
