Mahanayakudu picks up pace at box-office?

February 28, 2019 - 02:00 PM IST Ntr Mahanayakudu

NTR biopic featuring Balakrishna was one of the most anticipated films of this season. But, both the instalments of NTR (Kathanayakudu and Mahanayakudu) have received a poor response from critics & audiences. After Kathanayakudu, makers felt that the second part, which narrates the political journey of TDP founder NTR, may do well.

But, the collections of Mahanayakudu has been disappointing from the first day itself. Even the actor is quite upset about it and exhibitors are looking out for some financial help from Balakrishna. Some reports informed that Mahanayakudu even failed to surpass the collections of Nayanathara's dubbed film 'Anjali CBI' in RTC X Roads. After such a poor talk, any movie will generally fail to pick up at the box-office. It's certain that the box office collections of a flop movie will deteriorate from Monday. But, surprisingly, Mahanayakudu collections have picked up a pace from Tuesday and Wednesday in most of the areas in AP.

It is learnt that TDP leadership on the ground are reportedly spending Dwakra women groups to watch NTR's film in the theatres. That's how NTR Mahanayakudu is attracting a set of audiences to the theatres. For whatever reasons, it is a good thing for NTR- Mahanayakudu to witness a little jump in terms of box-office collections. The film which has Rana Daggubati as Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Vidya Balan as Basavatarakam and Kalyan Ram as Hari Krishna, may, however, end up as one of the biggest flops for director Krish and Balakrishna.
