The actor turned politician Kamal Haasan's 'Makkal Needhi Maiam' has been allotted the 'battery torch' symbol by the Central Election Commission for the upcoming polls. The announcement about the same was made by Kamal Haasan earlier today.
Thanking the EC for allotting Torch symbol, Kamal said MNM thanks the Election commission for granting us the Battery Torch symbol for the forthcoming elections. So appropriate. @maiamofficial will endeavour to be the “Torch-Bearer” for a new era in TN and Indian politics. After launching his party at Madurai public meeting in February 2018, Kamal Haasan has been giving out his opinions on various national issues and also clarified to some allegations that his party is not BJP's B team. Earlier, he launched a mobile app called 'Maiam Whistle' for party workers so that they can directly report issues like corruption, civic and local problems.
Having received the party symbol, the actor is now getting ready to contest the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu. On the other hand, Kamal's friend and Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth announced that his party will stay away from LS polls.
