It looks like the only sky is the limit for films made by top filmmaker SS Rajamouli. Considering that he is coming after Baahubali, with multi-starrer RRR, the producer has set the massive price for the overseas distribution rights. Since the film also have both Mega Powerstar Ram Charan and NTR Jr in the lead, there is a huge demand from the overseas distributors.
Already, several leading distributors approached the film producer DVV Danayya with fancy prices. But, the producer is sending them back with a shocking number. Yes, the makers are reportedly demanding a whopping 75 Crores for overseas rights. Generally, films having some top Bollywood stars like SRK and Salman Khan will fetch that number. Even SS Rajamouli's biggest blockbuster Baahubali-2 was sold for Rs 60 Cr. Keeping in view the huge demand and craze for movies directed by Rajamouli, the producer has set the price sky high. So, the overseas distributor may not be able to see solid returns on his investment, unless the film makes more than 100 Crores.
With Baahubali, Rajamouli has opened several international markets for Indian cinema. The 'Why Kattappa Killed Baahubali' tag has worked largely in favour of part-2. So, the comfortably gained more than 60 Crores. But, will the overseas distributors shell out 75 Crores for RRR is something that remains to be seen. Whoever it is, they are sure to set a new record in Tollywood.
