It is known that Bollywood filmmaker Omung Kumar made a biopic on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, featuring Vivek Oberoi in the lead role. Citing the 'Election Code' which is in effect, the Central Election Commission (CEC) didn't provide its approval for release of the film until completion of all seven phases of the election in India.
The film, which was shot in just 38 days, was rescheduled multiple times in the last couple of months. But, it has finally got a fresh release date. The EC informed makers to release the film on 24th May, a day after the Lok Sabha election results are announced. Confirming the new release date, producer Sandip Singh tweeted, We come again fighting all the roadblocks & hurdles coming in our way! #PMNarendraModi now in cinemas from 24th May. Now, he expects no obstacles for the movie's release on 24th May.
Earlier, before the EC's dissent, the biopic was planned for release on 11th of April. Besides Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi who will be seen as Narendra Modi, the important cast of the film include Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayan and others.
