Akkineni Nagarjuna's 'Manmadhudu-2' ended up as a disaster at the box-office. Now, it is showing on Venkatesh's film. According to industry talk, the result of Manmadhudu-2 is said to have made Venky stop working on a story that he agreed in the past. Going into the details, ace producer Suresh Babu has grabbed the rights of Bollywood hit film 'De De Pyaar De' starring Ajay Devgan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Tabu, with a view to remaking it in Telugu with his brother Venkatesh. Since it's the love story of a 50-year old man, Venkatesh appeared to be very suitable for the script.

Venkatesh also agreed to be part of the remake. But, the storyline of Manmadhudu-2 appeared very close to De De Pyaar De and the result of Nagarjuna starrer proved that audiences are no more interested to watch heroes in such script.

So, Venkatesh is expected to have backed off from the project. Noted filmmaker Sriwass has been working on pre-production work of the film from last 2-3 months. Now, the makers have to scout for another senior actor to appear in this movie. But, movie enthusiasts feel that only Victory Venkatesh can do full justice to the subject. It remains to be seen how Suresh Babu will plan this movie in Telugu now.
