Sye Raa Lost Rs 30 Crore?

October 03, 2019 - 05:00 PM IST Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy

As per the trade reports from Mumbai, the Hindi version of Sye Raa collected a gross of Rs 2.6 Cr NETT on its first day with 1200 screens (only in Hindi), which proves to be many times lesser than that of Saaho (collected 24 Cr NETT on Day 1 only in Hindi). On the other hand, War, the Hindi film that released yesterday made a whopping 54 Cr gross.

Considering the weekend and festival season, the trade experts say that Syeraa may not collect more than Rs 12 -15 Cr in full run in the best-case scenario. If that prediction becomes true, then it is needless to say that Sye Raa cannot find a place in the toppers list in the national market. Keeping that aside, here is inside news. The film would have bagged the Hindi dubbing rights for Rs 30 Crore had it been not released in Hindi. The sources say that the Hindi version was not sold out but released on mutual sharing ideas with Excel Entertainment and AA Films. Now, it is hard to see big profits out of it.

That way, Sye Raa makers lost Rs 30 Cr with the decision to release it in Hindi. But the film has the potential to create havoc at Telugu box office and attempts to either hit or cross the full run collection of Saaho in Telugu, as per trade opinions.
