After the humongous success of the magnum opus ‘Baahubali’, the respect and image of the Telugu Film industry went to all corners of India and people started focusing here. Taking this as the cue, some producers here got ambitious and decided that they would come up with movies that will mint them crores just like how ‘Baahubali’ did.
However, it takes great skill to achieve something like that. The lesson has been learned the hard way with the results of movies like ‘Saaho’ and ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’. Now, the cine biggies in film Nagar have come to a conclusion. Small budget flicks should be planned pan-national and subjects should be having content that appeals to a universal audience.
The budget is less so just dubbing needs to be done and some bilingual touch can be given. As a result, the chances of getting bought are high. Of course, releasing in Hindi is tough because the promotion itself costs 12 crores. But then the south can be targeted. For big-budget movies even that is tough. The small budget movies should be like Drushyam, though all languages were remakes for this film, chances of working out at box office are high.
