It has become a routine for Nandamuri Balakrishna to release his film for Sankranthi. But this time, he has brought 'Ruler' a month ahead of festive season. Prior to the release, Balayya said that this film will release for Christmas and run till Pongal. The KS Ravi Kumar directorial has opened to negative talk on first day. Reviewers stated that there is nothing to rave about the film, barring some dance moves and a few action episodes.
But, the box-office figures are decent on first day. Out of three films which released on Friday, Balakrishna's Ruler has collected highest share of Rs 4 Crore. The trade reports which we received so far are indicating that Ruler has collected Rs 68 lakhs from Nizam region, 98 lakhs from Ceeded, Rs 22 lakhs from Nellore, Rs 27 lakhs from Uttarandhra, Rs 18 lakhs from Krishna and 50 lakhs from East and West Godavari districts. The film which is made to attract mass audiences should see maintain the same momentum to become a profitable one. If mass audiences make beeline over weekend, 'Ruler' would achieve break even figure.
