It looks like 2019 is turning out to be an unlucky year for Nandamuri Balakrishna. His third film of this year, Ruler, also bombed at the box-office. At the start of this year, Balakrishna delivered two major disasters in the form of NTR- Kathanayakudu and NTR- Mahanayakudu. Now, Ruler also is expected to yield losses for the producer.
The film directed by KS Ravi Kumar, released last Friday, is getting a poor response from the audiences for a regular story and highly boring screenplay. Nothing about the film caught the attention of reviewers, except some dance moves and dialogues of Balakrishna. As a result, the first-weekend box-office figures are very weak and disappointing.
While the Ruler earned a share of Rs 4 Crore on day 1, the first-weekend share has come up to Rs 6.5 Cr - which indicates a poor run on Saturday and Sunday. The mass entertainer has fetched a share of 1.2 Crore from Nizam, 1.6 Cr from Ceeded and 1.35 Cr from Guntur. The overseas figures are much worse, as the film has made Rs 15 lakhs only. Having made a pre-release business of 22 Crores, the Ruler is likely to end up with a huge loss.
