Ever Since Telangana is bifurcated, the state government has stopped celebrating the Nandi Awards event. In the past, rumors emerged that T-govt was planning to give awards to the film fraternity by renaming the award titles with noted film personalities. However, it didn’t materialize so far. When Megastar Chiranjeevi had a formal meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, they reportedly have discussed the AP State Nandi Awards as well.
Now, the Telangana government seems to be very keen to reward film personalities with the prestigious Nandi Awards. Telangana State Minister for Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav has on Monday met Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi and Akkineni Nagarjuna at Chiru’s residence to discuss the same. Some key members from Telugu Film Chamber also were attending this meeting.
The Minister also discussed the key problems being faced by film workers and other issues in the industry. Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, in the past, said that his government will work towards making Hyderabad as ‘Film Hub of India’. KCR further said that he will have a meeting with the bigwigs of industry, including Megastar Chiranjeevi, to resolve the problems of cine workers.
