'Shyam Singha Roy' is a period backdrop film that is set in Kolkata. The movie has fantasy elements as per the reports. The latest reports reveal that the makers are planning to erect a huge set that resembles old Kolkata. Sets assume huge significance for period backdrop films and it has proven for many films in the past. The village set in 'Rangasthalam' played a crucial role in the success of the movie. So, the makers don't want to compromise on giving natural Kolkata flavor the film by erecting a set.

'Shyam Singha Roy' shoot will be commenced once Nani completes 'Tuck Jagadish'. It is interesting to see how Rahul Sankrityan presents the Natural Star in Kolkata backdrop fantasy film.
