From the last few days, it is being reported that the biopic of Karnam Malleshwari has been shelved due to creative differences between the makers regarding the script. However, the film's writer and producer Kona Venkat has now clarified that there is no truth in such news.

Quoting an article about the biopic's call-off, Kona tweeted, "Karnam Malliswari is a Pan Indian movie of a legendary sportswoman @kmmalleswari. It takes time to create a masterpiece. All works are in progress. The biopic is going to inspire this generation." Thus, he quashed all rumours about the film. The makers are yet to finalize the lead actress who will be reprising the role of Malleshwari.

There was news about heroines like Rakul Preet and Nitya Menon are doing the role but no one got officially confirmed yet. Sanjana Reddy will helm the project and MVV Satyanarayana will bankroll it along with Kona Venkat.
